Hi everyone,
I’ve been experiencing extremely slow download speeds from GitHub over the past few months, and I’m trying to determine whether this is a GitHub issue or something related to my network/ISP.
🔧 My Setup
ISP: Optimum (Texas, USA)
Connection: 300 Mbps down / 25 Mbps up
Fixed IPv4 address
Downloads from GitHub (e.g., source tarballs or releases) are extremely slow — often below 100 KB/s, which is much slower than expected.
Example:
Downloading a ~50 MB file took around 9–10 minutes.
